Therapeutic Approach

Grounded in evidence, shaped around you

Rather than applying a single method to every person, I draw from several well-established approaches and tailor the combination to what you need. Here’s a plain-language look at each one.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

Practical skills for managing intense emotions, tolerating distress, and staying present in difficult moments — especially useful when emotions feel like they’re in the driver’s seat.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

A structured approach that helps the brain process distressing or traumatic memories so they carry less emotional weight in the present.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

Explores the links between thoughts, feelings, and behaviour, and builds practical strategies to shift patterns that are keeping you stuck.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

A focused, trauma-specific approach that helps make sense of how a difficult experience has shaped your beliefs about yourself, others, and the world.

Existentially-Informed Therapy

Makes space for the bigger questions — meaning, identity, connection, and purpose — alongside the day-to-day work of feeling better.

More than just coping—let’s create a life that feels worth living.

About Sharon

Sharon Ng

Registered Psychologist

I’m a Registered Psychologist with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals facing mental health concerns, psychiatric challenges, disabilities, neurodivergence, and complex life circumstances. Throughout my career, I have worked with people from diverse backgrounds and at different stages of life, which has shaped my belief that people are much more than their symptoms or diagnoses.

I believe meaningful change is possible, even when patterns have been present for a long time. My approach is warm, genuine, collaborative, and grounded in evidence. I support individuals navigating emotional dysregulation, trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicidality, relationship and personality-related challenges, substance use, grief, and life transitions.

I draw from DBT, EMDR, CPT, CBT, and existentially informed therapy, balancing practical skill-building with deeper reflection and processing. Together, we can understand the patterns keeping you stuck, build more effective ways of navigating difficult emotions, process painful experiences, and explore what gives your life meaning and direction.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. We can start with where you are.

Who I Work With

I work with adolescents (15+), adults, and older adults. Therapy can be provided in English or Cantonese.

Clients come to therapy for many different reasons. You might be here because you are:

  • Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or emotionally exhausted
  • Healing from trauma or difficult life experiences
  • Struggling with intense emotions, self-harm, or patterns that feel hard to break
  • Navigating identity, life transitions, or questions about meaning and purpose
  • Improving relationships and sense of self
  • Coping with grief, loss, or major life changes
  • Seeking greater clarity, connection, and a more meaningful life

You are not too much.
You are not alone.
You belong here.
